Freedive Training in the Open Waters of Florida

Want to level up your freediving in clear, blue water with depth as far as your mind can imagine? Our open water training sessions are designed for certified freedivers who want the benefits of focused line diving without the stress of crowded dive boats.

Each session includes:

  • Private Boat Access: You’ll train aboard FINS UP 2, our spacious 29’ Cobia specially equipped for freediving. With cushioned seating, shade, ample storage, cooler space for refreshments, and a U.S. Coast Guard certified captain on board at all times, you’ll have both comfort and safety covered.
  • In-Water Instructors: Our freediving instructors set up your float and line, adjust the depth to match your training goals each dive, and—most importantly—provide direct safety supervision.
  • Flexible Add-Ons: Private coaching (+$75) and GoPro photos/videos (+$75) can be added so you leave with new skills and incredible memories.
  • Adventure Options: On weekdays, we can extend your session with stops at stunning reefs and shipwrecks for exploration beyond the line.

When We Train

Training is typically offered when weather and schedules permit, with the most consistent conditions from May through September. Off-season (October–April) sessions are offered as “pop-ups” when the forecast is favorable—follow us on social media or join our WhatsApp group to hear about them first.

Departure Times:

  • Weekdays: 10:00 AM
  • Weekends: 8:00 AM

Each session lasts about three hours, with approximately two hours in the water. Plenty of time for warm-ups, work-up dives, and technique-focused training.

What Guests Say About This Experience:

I absolutely loved my time line diving with Keke and Farrel at Live Free Diving. The intimate setting allowed me to enjoy time on the line with plenty of time to breathe up and relax into every dive I did. I felt safe with the other divers who followed freediving buddy safety standards and enjoyed the friendly company of everyone in the group who were inclusive and encouraging. Keke offered supportive advice on the line and I felt comfortable asking her questions relating to etiquette on the line and equalizing. Farrel was a great Captain of the boat who hosted the group in a safe and welcoming way. Thanks Keke and Farrel for a great time, I'll definitely be back again!

– Jess

The crew at Live were professional and kind. I went line diving with them, the coach David was a great safety and dive buddy. I was comfortable going deep knowing he was there. I would recommend them to anyone looking to train or hoping to go on some fun dives

– Dustin

Live Free Diving is an incredible freediving operation. I've done several line diving sessions, a Blue Heron Bridge training session, and attended South Florida Freedive Fest with them, and every training and event with them has been safe, fun, informative, and has helped me improve my skills as a diver. The owners Keke and Farrell (as well as the rest of their instructors) are incredibly kind, knowledgeable, passionate, and accommodating. They truly love the water and love bringing new people into the freediving community. I look forward to taking my Master Freediver course with Keke next month and to training more with Live Free Diving in the future. If you are in the West Palm Beach or South Florida area and are looking to get certified or further your freediving training, look no further than Live Free Diving.

Amazing line diving experience!! This was my first time diving with this group and they really made me feel welcome and so comfortable. Such a laid back experience compared to other dive boats Ive been on. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

I had an incredible trip line diving with this crew. We saw dolphins while training and I unlocked a new PB! 10/10 would recommend.

Farrell & Keke offer a great way to go freediving on their own boat, the Finns Up (which is in great condition) I’m already a certified freediver but was having a hard time finding opportunities to line dive. Live Freediving is the answer. When the weather’s right, they’re going out and it’s like going out with friends. I highly recommend them.
