Blue Heron Bridge: PADI Advanced Mermaid Course
Take the next step in your mermaid journey with our PADI Advanced Mermaid Course, the second level toward becoming a PADI Mermaid Instructor. This 3-hour course builds on your PADI Mermaid training and helps you dive deeper, expand your comfort in open water, and refine your technique.
Led by our experienced PADI Mermaid Instructors, this course blends freediving skills with mermaiding for a truly unique and transformative experience.
You’ll begin with a knowledge review session to go over your eLearning and answer questions, followed by light stretching before heading into the clear, tropical waters of Blue Heron Bridge, one of the most famous dive sites in the world.
Prerequisites
- PADI Mermaid certification (or qualifying equivalent)
- 12+ years old
- Ability to swim 100 meters and float comfortably for 10 minutes

Optional Add-On: Mermaid at Peanut Island by Boat
Upgrade your course with a private boat session at Peanut Island aboard our center console boat. You’ll learn proper boat entry and exit techniques and practice your mermaid skills in a stunning open-water setting at the famous Peanut Island.
Boat add-on: $350 per hour, 2-hour minimum ($700), for your private group of up to 4 guests. Available with private courses and by request, subject to boat availability and conditions.
Best scheduled around high tide for the calmest and clearest conditions.

We start with a knowledge review of your eLearning and light stretching, then head into the open water at Blue Heron Bridge for breath-hold, propulsion, performance and safety skills, including buddy procedures and blackout rescue practice.

An optional private boat session at Peanut Island, where you’ll learn boat entries and exits and practice your mermaid skills in open water. The boat add-on is $350 per hour with a 2-hour minimum ($700) for your private group of up to 4 guests, and is best scheduled around high tide.

Mermaid tails and monofins are available to rent for $35.

Because Live Free Diving is committed to high-quality courses with small instructor-to-student ratios, course fees are non-refundable. We’re happy to reschedule your course as follows:
- 7+ days’ notice: reschedule at no charge.
- Less than 7 days’ notice: $50 rescheduling fee.
- Private courses: require at least 14 days’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Rescheduling within 14 days is subject to a $250 rebooking fee. The full balance is due 7 days before your course, and changes made less than 7 days before are charged the full course price.
- Weather: if we cancel due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, you’ll receive a full refund or credit (minus the eLearning fee). Courses are not cancelled due to rain.
