How to become a PADI Mermaid Instructor?

The fascination of mermaids has been around for thousands of years and has been continuing to grow in popularity. Mermaids are mystical, powerful, and inspirational stewards of the sea. Now it’s never been easier to turn your childhood dream into a reality and help to inspire those around you! Whether you’re a complete beginner, an advanced mermaid who wants to turn this into a career, or an already professional mermaid who wants to add to your mermaid business, becoming a PADI Mermaid Instructor will open so many doors!

Here’s the break down to figure out what path is best for you!

 If you have NO Mermaid experience:

• Take PADI Mermaid & Advanced Mermaid courses

• 18 years old

• Current EFR/ CPR training within last 24 months

• Complete PADI Mermaid Instructor Course

If you’re a Certified Mermaid:

• 18 years old

• PADI advanced mermaid (or qualifying certification)

• Current EFR/ CPR training within last 24 months

• Complete PADI Mermaid Instructor Course

If you HAVE Mermaid Experience:

• 18 years old

• Proof of mermaid diving experience

• Current EFR/ CPR training within last 24 months

• Complete PADI Mermaid Instructor Course

If you are a Mermaid Instructor with another agency:

• Have a Mermaid Instructor certification from another training organization

• Complete the PADI Mermaid Instructor Orientation

• Have taught or assisted with a PADI Mermaid Course

• PADI Advanced Mermaid or qualifying certification or proof of mermaid diving experience

• Current EFR/ CPR training within last 24 months

• Current medical statement signed by a physician within the previous 12 months (if not a current PADI instructor or PADI freedive instructor)

If you’re a current PADI Freedive Instructor:

• 18 years old

• PADI advanced mermaid (or qualifying certification)

• Current EFR/ CPR training within last 24 months

• Current medical statement signed by a physician within the previous 12 months

If you’re a current PADI Scuba Instructor:

• PADI Mermaid & Advanced Mermaid

• Complete PADI Mermaid Instructor Course
