PADI Mermaid Certification Course

Dive into the enchanting world of mermaiding with our PADI Mermaid Certification Course! This course is the first step—along with the PADI Advanced Mermaid Course—toward becoming a certified PADI Mermaid Instructor.

Whether you’re brand new or already comfortable in the water, you’ll learn essential mermaid skills including buddy procedures, safe swimming techniques, proper use of mermaid equipment, and breath-work inspired by freediving.

No tail? No problem! We provide a mermaid tail and/or monofin for your training. To make it more magical, we include complimentary  photos & videos of your experience!

At Live Free Diving, our team of certified PADI Mermaid Instructors incorporates freediving principles into each session, giving you a safe, realistic, and empowering experience that prepares you for future mermaid adventures—or even a professional path.

Academic

The PADI Mermaid Course has two phases:

1. Knowledge Development – Complete your PADI Mermaid eLearning independently (or with in-person class sessions if eLearning isn’t available in your language).

2. Confined Water Sessions – Practice mermaid and rescue skills, problem management, and performance techniques including dolphin (butterfly) kicks, C- and U-shape turns, backward somersaults, underwater handshakes, mermaid bubbles, and back glides.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age: 10 years

• Must be able to swim 50m and float for 5 minutes

What’s Included

• Mask & snorkel or goggle rental (if you have your own, please bring it!)

• Certification card upon successful completion
