The PADI Mermaid Instructor training is a 2-day program that will teach you how to instruct all levels of the PADI Mermaid courses, including Discover Mermaid, Basic Mermaid, Mermaid, and Advanced Mermaid.
Prerequisites:
- 18 years old
- Certified as a PADI Advanced Mermaid OR have a qualifying certification
- Completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within the last 24 months
- Current medical statement signed by a physician within the previous 12 months

Training Requirements:
- Successfully complete Mermaid Instructor Exam with a passing score of at least 75 percent.
- Complete all Water-skills Workshops
- Demonstrate all Mermaid Skills at Role Model level
- Demonstrate two complete teaching presentations of at least two skills from the PADI Mermaid program
Required Swim Ability:
- Swim at least 400m without swim aids or floatation devices, and 800m with mask, snorkel and fins.
- Back float, tread, or bob on the water’s surface at least 10 minutes without aids.
- The ability to submerge and swim under water, without a mask, without distress.
